ASABA: The Delta State House of Assembly has suspended another lawmaker, Oboro Preyor (PDP-Bomadi), for alleged misconduct. Preyor’s suspension comes just one week after a similar action was taken against Chukudi Edafe, representing Ukwuani State Constituency.
The suspension was announced on Tuesday by Speaker Dennis Guwor during a plenary session. Although the specifics of the alleged misconduct have not been fully disclosed, sources suggest that it stems from actions deemed unbecoming of a legislator and not in line with the standards of the Assembly.

Preyor, who represents the Bomadi constituency, has not publicly responded to the suspension, but the move has sparked debate across the state, especially in light of the fact that another lawmaker, Chukudi Edafe, was similarly suspended just days earlier.
The suspensions are seen by some as an effort to restore order and discipline within the Assembly, while others view it as part of a larger political struggle among lawmakers in the state.
Speaker Guwor, while addressing the issue, emphasized that the Assembly would continue to uphold its rules and ensure that all members act in accordance with the law and public expectations.
Both Preyor and Edafe are members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), the ruling party in Delta State, and their suspensions have raised questions about internal party dynamics and governance in the state Assembly.
Further investigations are expected to clarify the reasons behind the suspensions, as the Assembly seeks to maintain integrity and discipline among its members.
