Nigerian content creator Peller has come under scrutiny following the resurfacing of an old video in which he urged fans to report fellow creator Carter Efe’s TikTok account.
The development comes days after TikTok permanently banned Carter Efe’s main account, which had reportedly grown to more than 5.6 million followers and 158 million likes.
The old video began circulating again on September 9, 2026, prompting social media users to speculate about a possible connection between Peller’s previous appeal and the subsequent removal of Carter Efe’s account.
However, there is no confirmed evidence that Peller’s appeal caused the TikTok ban.
In the resurfaced clip, Peller is seen on his knees appealing to his followers to report Carter Efe’s TikTok page.
Peller accused Carter Efe of allegedly working against other content creators and suggested that his followers take steps that could lead to the account being removed.
The video has since generated renewed discussion among social media users, particularly because it resurfaced shortly after Carter Efe lost access to his account.
Despite the speculation, TikTok’s reported enforcement notice cited repeated violations of its Community Guidelines as the reason for the account’s removal.
There is no indication in the reported enforcement notice that Peller’s previous appeal was responsible for TikTok’s decision.
The ban represents the second time Carter Efe has lost a major TikTok account.
In June 2025, his previous account, which reportedly had approximately 3.5 million followers, was removed following controversy over comments he made about Afrobeats star Wizkid during a livestream.
Carter Efe later rebuilt his TikTok audience, eventually growing his new account to more than 5.6 million followers before it was banned again.
The latest controversy has reignited discussions about rivalry and competition within Nigeria’s fast-growing creator economy.
It has also highlighted the risks faced by social media personalities who depend heavily on third-party platforms to build their audiences and generate income.
While creators can accumulate millions of followers on platforms such as TikTok, their accounts remain subject to platform rules and moderation policies.
