ASABA: Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has approved a minor reshuffle in the Delta State Executive Council following the resignation of two commissioners seeking elective positions ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The development was announced on Friday in Asaba through a statement issued by the Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Charles Aniagwu.
According to the statement, the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Community and Social Development, Pat Ajudua, has been directed to oversee the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Community Support Services and Girl Child Development.
Also affected by the reshuffle is the Commissioner for Housing, Godknows Angele, who will now supervise the Ministry of Youth Development pending further appointments by the state government.
The reshuffle followed the resignation of the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Community Support Services and Girl Child Development, Orode Uduaghan, and the Commissioner for Youth Development, ThankGod Trakiriowei.
Speaking on the development, Aniagwu explained that the two former commissioners resigned to pursue political ambitions ahead of the 2027 elections.
