MADRID: Fresh tension has reportedly erupted inside the dressing room of Real Madrid after midfielder Federico Valverde was allegedly hospitalized following a violent altercation with teammate Aurélien Tchouaméni during training.
According to reports from Express UK and Marca, the confrontation occurred just days before Real Madrid’s crucial clash against FC Barcelona.
The incident was described as very serious, with reports claiming Valverde required medical attention and was subsequently taken to hospital after the fight escalated.
Sources said several members of the club’s staff attempted to intervene and calm the situation, but tensions reportedly spiralled out of control from the beginning.
Following the incident, all Real Madrid players were allegedly ordered to remain at the training ground for an emergency dressing-room meeting as club officials tried to contain the growing unrest.
Reports suggest the atmosphere within the club has become increasingly tense following the team’s elimination from the UEFA Champions League by Bayern Munich last month.
The Valverde-Tchouaméni clash is said to be the latest in a series of internal disputes affecting the squad.
Earlier reports had linked defender Antonio Rüdiger to another heated confrontation involving teammate Álvaro Carreras during training.
Video footage circulated on social media allegedly showed Rüdiger slapping Carreras during an argument witnessed by other members of the squad.
At the time, some coaches and officials within the club were also reportedly questioning Carreras’ commitment to the team.
Carreras later released a statement dismissing the claims and insisting his dedication to the club had never wavered.
Rüdiger subsequently apologized for his behaviour and reportedly invited teammates and their families to lunch in a bid to ease tensions within the squad.
Despite the reports, Real Madrid have yet to issue an official statement regarding the alleged altercation between Valverde and Tchouaméni.
