Ex-OGTV Broadcaster, Security Guard Found Dead in Ogun Residence

The Ogun State Police Command has begun an investigation into the deaths of a retired Ogun State Television (OGTV) broadcaster, Mrs. Kitan Oyesiku, and her security guard, whose bodies were discovered at her residence in Iyana Agodo Village, Owode-Egba area of the state.

Police spokesperson, CSP Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident on Sunday, saying officers were alerted after a resident noticed unusual activities around the property and raised concerns.

According to the police, detectives who visited the scene observed signs of forced entry and evidence that the house had been ransacked. During a search of the premises, the body of the security guard was found at his duty post, while Oyesiku’s corpse was later discovered inside her apartment.

Investigators also discovered that the deceased’s vehicle was missing from the compound, deepening suspicions that the pair may have fallen victim to a violent attack.

“Police detectives were immediately deployed to the scene, where preliminary findings revealed signs of forced entry and disturbance. During a thorough search of the premises, the corpse of the security guard was found in the security post, while the body of Mrs. Oyesiku was later discovered inside her apartment. Her vehicle was also found missing from the premises,” the statement said.

Following the incident, the Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, CP Bode Ojajuni, ordered a full-scale investigation, directing detectives to intensify efforts aimed at identifying those behind the killings and recovering the missing vehicle.

The command said intelligence-driven operations and surveillance had been expanded to strategic locations as part of ongoing efforts to unravel the circumstances surrounding the deaths.

Describing the incident as tragic, the police extended condolences to the families of the deceased, the management of Ogun State Television and members of the media community.

Residents were also urged to remain calm and provide any useful information that could assist investigators.

The incident brings back memories of a similar attack in September 2025, when an ARISE News Channel presenter, Somtochukwu Maduagwu, and a security guard were reportedly killed by suspected armed robbers at a residence in Katampe, Abuja.

Police later arraigned 11 suspects before a Federal Capital Territory court on charges bordering on criminal conspiracy, armed robbery and murder.
