ILORIN: Five members of the same family who lost their lives when a two-storey building collapsed in Ilorin, Kwara State, have been laid to rest according to Islamic rites.

The victims were buried at the Muslim Cemetery in Oko-Olowo, Ilorin, after their remains were recovered from the rubble of the collapsed structure.

The building reportedly came down in the Popo Giwa area of Ilorin on Tuesday evening, trapping the victims beneath the debris.

The deceased, who were members of the same family, were recovered from the site following rescue and recovery efforts after the building collapsed.

The Janazah prayer for the victims was led by renowned Islamic scholar, Prof. Abubakar Imam Ali-Agan, before their remains were committed to the earth.

The burial drew family members, relatives, friends and other members of the community, who gathered to mourn the victims and offer prayers for the deceased.
