2027 Will Be Tinubu’s Toughest Election Battle — Zainab Galadima

KADUNA: Zainab Galadima, daughter of prominent NNPP chieftain Buba Galadima, has projected that President Bola Tinubu will face his most difficult political challenge yet in the 2027 presidential election, warning he may receive no more than 30% of votes from the northern region.

Speaking on the Mic On Podcast hosted by Channels TV journalist Seun Okinbaloye, Zainab stated that growing discontent across the North and rising opposition momentum could seriously impact Tinubu’s re-election chances.

Honestly, the reviews about Tinubu from the North are very poor. It’s bad. He may get just 30% or even less,” she said.

She added that the situation appears worse than what was witnessed during the 2023 general elections and cautioned that Tinubu’s 2027 campaign would likely be the toughest political contest of his career.

It’s going to be tougher than 2023. This new coalition although still unclear in its structureis a signal that people are waking up. We all need to sit up,” Zainab warned.

Zainab Galadima, who previously served as a technical assistant on SDG projects under former President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, also praised the newly formed opposition coalition, calling it a healthy development for Nigerian democracy.

Her father, Buba Galadima, had earlier stated that the coalition represented a beacon of hope and urged concerned Nigerians to support the alliance, citing the country’s current challenges as justification.

The coalition recently adopted the African Democratic Congress(ADC)

as its political platform and unveiled a new leadership structure in preparation for the 2027 general elections.

Prominent Opposition Leaders Rally

The emerging coalition includes several major political figures such as:

  • Atiku Abubakar, former Vice President

  • Peter Obi, 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate

  • Rotimi Amaechi, former Minister of Transportation

  • Nasir El-Rufai, ex-Governor of Kaduna State

Their collective objective is to unseat President Tinubu, who came to power in 2023 under the banner of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

As political alignments continue to shift, analysts believe the 2027 race could reshape Nigeria’s political landscape, with voter sentiment in key regions like the North playing a decisive role.
