Trump Administration Moves to Expand Ukraine’s Strike Capabilities Against Russia

WASHINGTON DC: The Trump administration has reportedly approved an intelligence-sharing plan that would allow Ukraine to target critical energy infrastructure deep inside Russian territory, according to The Wall Street Journal.

The agreement would enable the Pentagon and U.S. intelligence agencies to provide Kyiv with data to identify and strike oil refineries, pipelines, and other facilities that generate significant revenue for the Kremlin.

U.S. officials also said Washington has asked NATO allies in Europe to share similar intelligence.

This marks the first time the U.S. would directly support Ukraine’s long-range missile strikes on targets inside Russia.

Alongside intelligence support, the Trump administration is also considering supplying Ukraine with advanced long-range weapons, including Tomahawk and Barracuda cruise missiles.

These systems can strike targets more than 500 miles away with Tomahawks capable of reaching up to 1,500 miles, putting Moscow within range.

A final decision on the missile transfer has not yet been made. However, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reportedly urged President Trump during a closed-door meeting last week to sell Kyiv Tomahawks. Sources said Trump appeared receptive to the request.

Currently, Ukraine’s longest-range U.S.-supplied weapons are ATACMS, which can travel up to 190 miles.

The move comes amid stalled peace talks with Moscow. Last week, Trump described Russia as a paper tiger, citing new U.S. intelligence assessments that the Kremlin is edging toward economic collapse and military setbacks.

For the first time, Trump publicly suggested that Ukraine could “win all of Ukraine back in its original form, signaling stronger White House backing for Kyiv’s war effort.
