Tinubu’s Ideology Flip flop With Change In Policies- Amb.(Dr)Yemi Farounbi

Nigeria’s former Philippines Ambassador, Dr Yemi Farounbi, has said said Tinubu’s ideology flip flop with change in policies.  He says President Bola Tinubu of today is not the same he knew in the days of their activism as members of the pro-democracy group, the National Democratic Coalition (NADECO).

Farounbi expressed worries about the Tinubu administration’s frequent policy changes, which have prevented companies and ordinary Nigerians from making financial plans.

The former ambassador, who turn 80 on October 1, 2024, claimed that by discarding the principles he upheld prior to taking office as president of Nigeria on May 29, 2023, Tinubu is engaging in an ideological flip flop in policies change..

He predicted that as long as the President doesn’t properly reform the nation, there would be continuous economic instability.

I am going to ask him why is he ideologically flip flopping in police change. Why is he not appearing as the Tinubu that we knew, why is  he not the Tinubu that was committed to the restructuring of this country, a Tinubu that was interested in a sovereign national conference, a Tinubu that was committed to true federalism?

If I have that opportunity, I am going to ask him (Tinubu) to look back at what he was, said the former ambassador. I’m going to inquire

He predicted that as long as the President doesn’t properly reform the nation, there would be continues economic instability.

The former ambassador said, If I get the chance, I’m going to ask Tinubu to take stock of who he was.” I am going to invite him to look at the letter he sent to (previous President Goodluck) Jonathan in 2012. I’m going to ask him to go at the Supreme Court cases he brought on behalf of local governments.

I’ll ask him why he’s pulling off these ideological acrobatics. How come he doesn’t resemble the Tinubu we knew? I’m going to inquire as to what transpired. Is he able to be authentic? If you let him to be who he was in the past, I believe that many of these issues will go away.

We must demonetise the political system here in Nigeria. We must look at our political recruitment system from councilors to the top in terms of what they are bringing to the table in terms of intellect and competence,” he said, emphasizing that those who help the President to win the 2023 election have not been able to help him to run it well.

Farounbi said the idea of a progressive is to be able to provide for the welfare of the people, to be able to provide food and jobs for the people said again that the ideology of Tinubu is a flip flopp policy change and urgently need a rigjig
