Tinubu Thanks Saudi King Salman for Rare Privilege of Praying Inside Ka’abah

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called for national unity, peace and prosperity, urging Nigerians to turn the country’s ethnic, religious and cultural diversity into a source of strength and sustainable development.

The President made the appeal during his spiritual visit to Makkah, Saudi Arabia, where he hosted members of his delegation to dinner on Sunday.

According to a statement from the Presidency, Tinubu prayed that Almighty Allah would bless Nigeria with lasting peace, harmony and prosperity while granting the nation’s leaders the wisdom, courage and foresight required to steer the country towards greater development.

He expressed hope that Nigeria’s diversity would promote national advancement rather than division, stressing the importance of mutual understanding, peaceful coexistence and a shared commitment to the country’s progress.

The President also sought divine guidance and protection for Nigerians at home and abroad, praying that citizens would strengthen their bonds of brotherhood and embrace patriotism, compassion and service to the nation.

In a separate reflection on his spiritual journey to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah, President Tinubu reaffirmed his commitment to building a prosperous Nigeria and improving the living conditions of citizens.

The President said he remained determined to invest in the future of young Nigerians and pursue national development in accordance with the will of Almighty Allah and the aspirations of the Nigerian people.

He also expressed appreciation to Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for granting him the rare privilege of leading Nigeria’s delegation to pray inside the Ka’abah, describing the experience as a significant spiritual moment.

Tinubu said the experience further strengthened his resolve to seek divine wisdom, resilience and guidance in discharging his responsibilities as President.

The President’s prayers centred on the need for purposeful leadership, national cohesion and sustainable development, with particular emphasis on improving the future of younger generations.

He called for divine assistance in guiding the country’s leadership towards decisions that would advance national prosperity and serve the interests of Nigerians.

Tinubu’s message also highlighted the importance of citizens working together despite their religious, ethnic and cultural differences.

The President maintained that Nigeria’s diversity should be harnessed as an instrument of unity, national strength and economic progress rather than allowed to become a source of division.

His remarks came during his visit to Saudi Arabia for the Islamic pilgrimage of Umrah, which provided an opportunity for prayers for Nigeria, its leadership and citizens.
