Popular Nigerian actor, comedian and social activist, Adebowale Adedayo, widely known as Mr Macaroni, has earned a Master of Arts degree with Distinction in Performance from the prestigious Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in the United Kingdom.
The entertainer announced the achievement on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, by sharing a video of his graduation ceremony on social media, triggering an outpouring of congratulatory messages from fans, colleagues and well-wishers.
The latest academic achievement adds to his educational qualifications, having previously obtained a degree in Theatre Arts from Redeemer’s University, Ede, Osun State.
Mr Macaroni, who has established himself as one of Nigeria’s most recognisable entertainment personalities, is a trained actor whose performances have earned him considerable recognition in the Nigerian film and comedy industries.
His decision to pursue further studies in acting at Mountview Academy reflects his commitment to developing his craft and expanding his professional capabilities beyond his already successful entertainment career.
Earlier in 2026, the actor shared photographs and updates from a theatrical production he participated in as part of his training at the UK institution.
The production, titled 55 Days, featured him in the role of Lord Commander Thomas Fairfax, providing an opportunity to demonstrate his versatility and explore a different dimension of stage performance.
Mr Macaroni initially rose to prominence through his popular comedy character, a wealthy, flirtatious and often mischievous man whose catchphrases and humorous encounters with young women became widely popular among Nigerian social media users.
Through the character, he built a massive following and gradually transitioned into mainstream Nollywood productions, featuring in several notable films and blockbuster projects.
Beyond comedy and acting, the entertainer has also become known for his outspoken position on social justice, good governance, human rights and accountability.
His activism has earned him admiration among many Nigerians, although his involvement in protests and criticism of government policies has also brought him into confrontation with security authorities.
One of the most notable incidents occurred in February 2021, when he was arrested during the #EndSARS protest at the Lekki Toll Gate in Lagos. His arrest generated widespread public reactions and renewed discussions about citizens’ rights to peaceful protest.
He has continued to use his influence to speak against injustice and advocate for socioeconomic reforms. More recently, he paid tribute to victims and heroes of the October 20, 2020, Lekki Toll Gate incident.
His reputation also extends beyond entertainment and activism, with several colleagues and industry veterans publicly acknowledging his generosity and kindness.
In a recent interview, veteran actor and former Theatre Arts lecturer at Obafemi Awolowo University, Peter Fatomilola, recounted how Mr Macaroni gave him ₦1 million for a cameo appearance in one of his comedy skits.
Fatomilola described the gesture as an uncommon demonstration of generosity, prompting other individuals to share similar experiences about the entertainer’s kindness.
Responding to the testimonies, Mr Macaroni expressed appreciation for the positive remarks in an emotional post on X.
He also opened up about his personal struggles, revealing that despite his public success and generosity, he had privately experienced financial difficulties before eventually overcoming them through determination and support from friends and well-wishers.
His latest academic accomplishment has further attracted attention to his journey, highlighting his determination to combine practical entertainment experience with formal professional training.
The Master of Arts degree with Distinction marks another milestone in the career of the entertainer, who continues to build his reputation as an actor, comedian, content creator and advocate for social change.
