KATSEYE Postpones Detroit Concert 30 Minutes Before Showtime, Apologises to Disappointed Fans

American girl group KATSEYE has apologised to fans after postponing its scheduled concert in Detroit, Michigan, just 30 minutes before the group was expected to take the stage.

The concert, which was scheduled for Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at Little Caesars Arena, was called off after one of the group’s members, Megan Skiendiel, reportedly fell ill and became unable to perform.

The announcement came as a disappointment to fans, particularly those who had travelled from different locations, made accommodation arrangements and purchased tickets in anticipation of the performance.

In a statement shared on the group’s Instagram Stories, KATSEYE explained that the decision to postpone the show was taken because of Megan’s health condition and the need to allow her adequate time to recover.

We’re so sorry to share that tonight’s show at Little Caesars Arena has been postponed due to illness. Unfortunately, Megan is unwell and unable to perform tonight, and we want to make sure she has the time she needs to rest and recover,” the group stated.

The members also acknowledged the inconvenience caused by the late announcement, expressing disappointment over their inability to meet fans as scheduled.

“We know so many of you have travelled, made plans, and been looking forward to tonight. We are incredibly disappointed that we won’t get to see you, and we’re truly sorry for the inconvenience,” the statement added.

The group thanked its supporters for their patience and understanding, assuring them that they looked forward to performing for them when a new date was arranged.

The management of Little Caesars Arena also expressed regret over the postponement, advising ticket holders to retain their tickets, which would remain valid once a replacement concert date was announced.

The last-minute postponement generated mixed reactions across social media, with some fans expressing frustration over the timing of the announcement, while others defended the group and emphasised the importance of prioritising the health of performers.

Some disappointed supporters questioned whether the organisers would address additional expenses incurred by fans who had travelled to attend the concert, including transportation, flights and hotel accommodation.

One social media user called for compensation for fans who had made travel arrangements, arguing that the late cancellation had caused considerable inconvenience.

Other supporters, however, urged the public to show understanding, noting that illness could affect anyone and that performers should not be pressured to appear on stage when unwell.

One fan defended the members, writing that they were human beings before being entertainers and deserved time to rest and recover when sick.

KATSEYE is an international girl group whose members include Daniela Avanzini, Yoonchae, Lara Raj, Megan Skiendiel, Manon Bannerman and Sophia Laforteza.

The group has recently been performing with two members, Sophia Laforteza and Manon Bannerman, away from activities.

However, there has been encouraging news concerning Sophia’s return. The group recently confirmed that she is expected to resume activities in January 2027 after taking a break to focus on her mental health.

Speaking to E! News at the 2026 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on October 18, group member Lara Raj expressed excitement about Sophia’s planned return.

“We are so happy that she’s coming back. We’re so proud of her. She’s really been so brave,” Raj said.

She further explained that the group respected Sophia’s decision to take time away to prioritise her well-being.

“We respect her so much for taking the space and taking time for her health. She’s our sister, so we can’t wait for her to come back,” she added.

As fans await Megan’s recovery and the announcement of a new Detroit concert date, the latest development has renewed conversations about the challenges performers face in balancing demanding entertainment schedules with their physical and mental well-being.

For now, the group has urged its supporters to remain patient as arrangements for the postponed performance are addressed.
