Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board Releases Thursday UTME Results

LAGOS: The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the results of candidates who sat for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) on Thursday, April 16.

In a statement issued on Friday and signed by its spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, the Board disclosed that a total of 632,788 results are now available for candidates to access.

Candidates have been advised to check their results by sending “UTMERESULT” via SMS to 55019 or 66019, using the same phone number used during registration.

JAMB clarified that, for now, candidates can only view their results, as the option to print result slips is not yet available.

The Board also issued a stern warning against attempts to manipulate or alter result messages obtained from its official channels, stressing that such actions constitute a criminal offence.

“Candidates are strongly cautioned against manipulating the SMS received from the official platform (55019/66019) to fabricate or alter scores with the intent to mislead others, including parents. Such actions constitute a serious criminal offence,” the statement read.

JAMB revealed that it has already begun enforcement actions, noting that two candidates and one parent are currently in custody over alleged result falsification using artificial intelligence and other electronic means.

“Any candidate found culpable will face the full consequences of the law,” the Board added.

The examination body further assured that the UTME process is still ongoing, with more results to be released in batches as they are processed.
