Frontline senatorial aspirant of the All-Progressives Congress for the Enugu North Senatorial Zone, Ikeje Asogwa, is set to formally declare his intention to contest for the Senate ahead of the party’s primary election for the 2027 general polls.
The declaration ceremony is scheduled to take place on Sunday, May 17, at 2:00 p.m. in Iheaka, his hometown in Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area.
According to the Director of Media Strategy and Communication of the Ikeje Asogwa Campaign Organisation, Samson Ezea, the event is designed to formally present Asogwa’s senatorial aspiration to the people of the district and deepen his engagement with constituents at the grassroots level.
Ezea said the declaration would also provide an avenue for the aspirant to continue interacting with residents across the zone before and after the APC primaries, as well as in the lead-up to the general elections.
He disclosed that party leaders, stakeholders, supporters, and dignitaries from the six local government areas that make up Enugu North Senatorial District had been invited to attend the event.
The campaign team described the declaration as another significant step in Asogwa’s grassroots mobilisation efforts, noting that growing support across the district reflects confidence in his vision for effective representation, unity, and development.
