DELTA STATE: Residents of Ekuku-Agbor and surrounding communities in Ika South Local Government Area, Delta State, have applauded the state government for bringing electricity back to their area after 15 years of darkness.
The communities, including Ekuku-Agbor, Obi-Agbor, and Egbudu Akan, among others, are now celebrating a brighter future. Delta State Governor, Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, and Ika South Local Government Chairman, Engr. Jerry Ehiwarior, were instrumental in fulfilling this long-awaited goal of power restoration.
Excitement swept across the communities as residents praised the governor and the chairman for completing the power substation project, which marks an end to years of blackout.
According to community sources, Engr. Ehiwarior, upon assuming office as Commissioner for Power and Energy in 2023, took immediate steps to address the area’s power issues. Although he resigned in March, he continued to push for the project’s completion.
