OSOGBO: Former Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Bola Oyebamiji, has emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) consensus candidate for the Osun State governorship election.
Oyebamiji was adopted on Saturday after fellow aspirants, Kunle Adegoke (SAN) and Senator Babajide Omoworare, moved a motion for consensus at the party’s primary held in Osogbo.
The motion was affirmed through a voice vote conducted by the APC primary committee chairman and Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo.
Declaring the outcome, Okpebholo officially presented Oyebamiji as the party’s flagbearer, describing the process as transparent and united.
The emergence follows reports that all APC aspirants agreed to back a consensus candidate after consultations with President Bola Tinubu in Abuja.
