Apple has unveiled the new Apple TV 4K (4th Generation) and HomePod mini 2, introducing upgraded hardware, improved audio features and plans to bring its Siri AI experience to more home entertainment devices.
The new products expand Apple’s connected-home ecosystem, with both devices designed to work as smart home hubs that allow users to control compatible accessories and manage automated routines.
According to the product details published on October 13, 2026, the new Apple TV 4K features Apple’s A19 processor, enhanced voice controls and support for more intelligent content discovery. The HomePod mini 2, meanwhile, comes with an upgraded audio system, new colour options and a feature that adds lighting effects to music playback.
Apple has set the price of the Apple TV 4K (4th Generation) at Rs. 39,900 in India, with sales scheduled to begin on November 13.
The HomePod mini 2 costs Rs. 18,900 and is expected to become available earlier, from October 30.
The new smart speaker will be offered in five colours: Pink, Green, Blue, White and Midnight.
The new Apple TV 4K is powered by Apple’s A19 chip, which the company says delivers up to 50 per cent faster CPU performance and up to twice the GPU performance compared with the previous generation.
The streaming device also includes a dedicated AV1 decoder designed to improve video-streaming efficiency.
One of its major additions is support for Apple’s upgraded Siri AI experience. Users will be able to search for films and television programmes through voice commands, receive recommendations and ask conversational questions about the content they are watching.
The assistant is also designed to handle follow-up questions, with responses appearing in a compact on-screen overlay.
For hands-free interaction, Apple has included three built-in far-field microphones. The updated remote adds Find My support and Precision Finding, making it easier for users to locate a misplaced controller.
Beyond streaming, the new Apple TV 4K supports Apple Fitness+, Apple Arcade, FaceTime through Continuity Camera and personalised photo screensavers.
Users can also create a surround-sound setup by pairing the device with four HomePod mini 2 speakers or compatible second-generation HomePod speakers, according to the published product details.
These features position the device as more than a conventional streaming box, combining entertainment, gaming, video calls and smart-home functions in one system.
The HomePod mini 2 is powered by Apple’s S10 chip and uses computational audio to optimise sound in real time.
Apple says the speaker supports 360-degree audio and can be used individually, as part of a stereo pair or in a multiroom audio arrangement.
A new feature called Sound Glow introduces lighting effects that respond to music. The top of the speaker glows and pulses according to the bass and treble, adding a visual element to audio playback.
Users can also select soundscapes, including rain, to create ambient lighting effects.
Unlike the new Apple TV 4K, the HomePod mini 2 will not have Siri AI available immediately out of the box.
Apple has said the feature will arrive through a future software update, bringing more natural conversations, personalised assistance and improved music discovery.
The speaker will also serve as a smart home hub, allowing users to control compatible accessories, run automations and manage scenes.
Apple says the HomePod mini 2 will work with compatible Apple Home accessories, including supported video doorbells and cameras.
The launch highlights Apple’s continued effort to bring entertainment, voice assistance and smart-home control together.
The Apple TV 4K focuses on streaming, gaming and AI-assisted content discovery, while the HomePod mini 2 combines audio playback with home automation and ambient lighting.
However, buyers considering the HomePod mini 2 should note that its promised Siri AI capabilities depend on a future software update.
With the new devices arriving in October and November, Apple’s latest home products introduce updated performance and additional features to its connected-home lineup.
