OWERRE: Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, has announced a major upward review of salaries for civil servants, lecturers, and health workers in the state, raising the minimum wage for workers from N70,000 to N104,000.
The announcement was made on Tuesday night during a meeting with organised labour at the Government House in Owerri. The increment represents a N34,000 boost to the current wage and, according to the governor, is a deliberate step towards cushioning the effect of economic reforms and improving the living conditions of workers.
