JOS: Troops of 3 Division, Nigerian Army, under Operation Safe Haven, have arrested a 21-year-old notorious gunrunner, Sengi David, and recovered arms along the Bokkos-Bot-Mangu road in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.
According to Media Information Officer, Major Samson Zhakom, the operation was part of the ongoing Operation Lafiyan Jama’a. On March 12, 2025, troops carried out offensive operations in an effort to clear criminal elements from the Kuru and Turu areas in Jos South Local Government Area.
During the operation, troops engaged with kidnappers and neutralized two suspects who were found in possession of 18 rounds of 7.62mm (Special) ammunition and 9 rounds of 5.56 x 45mm ammunition.
In a separate operation on the same day, troops mounted snap checkpoints along the Bokkos-Bot-Mangu road in Bokkos LGA based on credible intelligence regarding the movement of arms and ammunition.

During the operation, they intercepted Sengi David, a notorious gunrunner from Kopal Village in Mangu LGA, who was found with one AK-47 magazine and 48 rounds of 7.62mm (Special) ammunition.
The suspect and the recovered items are now in custody for further investigation.
