Tinubu’s 2027 Campaign Kicks Off in Kaduna as APC Supporters Flood Ranchers Bees Stadium

KADUNA: Supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Saturday thronged Ranchers Bees Stadium in Kaduna State as the ruling party commenced activities for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 presidential re-election campaign.

The stadium witnessed a massive gathering of party faithful and other Nigerians, with supporters arriving from different areas ahead of the President’s expected arrival for the campaign flag-off.

According to PUNCH, which monitored the gathering, major roads leading to the stadium had been barricaded, while APC supporters began arriving as early as 7am.

Dressed in colourful party-branded clothing and traditional outfits, the supporters sang, danced and waved APC flags while chanting slogans in Hausa and English in support of Tinubu and other party candidates.

Some of the slogans heard at the venue included “Tinubu Again Tinubu Our Father, Asiwaju, Uba Sani for Second Term,” “Speaker Abbas for Tinubu” and “Tinubu Continuity.

Many attendees wore T-shirts, caps and hijabs bearing Tinubu’s photographs, APC insignia and images of political leaders, particularly governors in Kaduna and Kano states.

A correspondent who arrived at the stadium around 10am observed that the seating sections and main bowl were filled with supporters awaiting the arrival of Tinubu, governors and other APC leaders.

The report said the main stadium area was packed, leaving limited room for movement, although the VIP section remained largely empty as dignitaries and party chieftains had yet to arrive at the time of observation.

The energetic atmosphere reflected the enthusiasm of supporters, who gathered to demonstrate their loyalty to the ruling party and its candidates ahead of the next general elections.

The Kaduna rally is expected to bring together APC governors, party leaders, political stakeholders and supporters from across the country.

According to the report, 31 governors, alongside other party leaders and supporters, were expected to attend the event in solidarity with Tinubu’s bid for a second term.

The campaign flag-off represents an important mobilisation opportunity for the APC as it seeks to consolidate its political structures, strengthen alliances and build momentum ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Kaduna, a strategically important state in the North-West, is a significant political arena given the region’s electoral influence and population

The rally comes amid intensifying political conversations about Tinubu’s standing in northern Nigeria and the opposition’s prospects of challenging the ruling party.

Recent exchanges between APC figures and opposition political actors have focused on regional support, campaign mobilisation and competing claims about the President’s popularity.

The large gathering at Ranchers Bees Stadium offers a visible demonstration of APC mobilisation in Kaduna, although attendance at a campaign rally alone does not establish the voting intentions of the wider electorate.

As political activities gather pace, the ruling party will face the challenge of translating campaign enthusiasm into sustained public support, particularly as Nigerians assess economic conditions, security, governance and the performance of the administration.

The 2027 general elections are expected to feature intense competition among political parties seeking to secure voters’ confidence across the country’s six geopolitical zones.
