LAGOS: Reality TV star and entrepreneur Natacha Akide, popularly known as Tacha, on Friday, October 10, paid an emotional tribute to her late mother before embarking on her ambitious attempt to break the Guinness World Record (GWR) for the most makeovers completed within 24 hours.
The event, which officially began at the John Randle Centre for Yoruba Culture and History in Lagos, serves as the centrepiece of the Tacha Beauty Festival, a vibrant three-day celebration of creativity, culture, and self-expression in Nigeria’s growing beauty industry.
The festival, running from October 10 to 12, 2025, has drawn hundreds of beauty enthusiasts, makeup artists, and fans eager to witness a record-breaking moment.
Before stepping into the spotlight to begin the challenge, Tacha took a solemn moment to remember her late mother the woman she credits for shaping her values, confidence, and entrepreneurial drive. A giant poster positioned at the venue bore the inscription:

Visibly moved, the Big Brother Naija Pepper Dem alum was seen kneeling before the tribute poster in prayer, dedicating the day’s effort to her mother’s memory.
