ABUJA: Vice President Kashim Shettima has departed Johannesburg for Luanda, Angola, where he will represent President Bola Tinubu at the African Union–European Union (AU–EU) Summit scheduled to hold from Monday to Wednesday.
The development was confirmed in a statement issued on Sunday in Abuja by Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications (Office of the Vice President).
Shettima had earlier attended the 20th G20 Leaders’ Summit in South Africa before departing for the AU–EU gathering, which will bring together Heads of State and Government from both unions for their 7th high-level meeting.
According to Nkwocha, the Luanda summit will focus on shared challenges confronting Africa and Europe. It will feature sessions involving young leaders, innovators, and civil society groups who are expected to develop joint recommendations on key areas such as:

the digital economy

creative industries

manufacturing

agribusiness
The vice president is expected to return to Nigeria at the end of the summit.
