ASABA: The Delta State Police Command has confirmed the shocking murder of a retired judge, Justice Ifeoma Okogwu, whose body was found in her Asaba home under disturbing circumstances.
Justice Okogwu, a respected former judicial officer from Asaba, was discovered dead late Sunday, November 23, 2025. According to reports, her killers tied her hands and legs before ransacking the entire house, suggesting a violent and targeted attack.
Her brother, Ogbueshi Godfrey Okogwu, expressed deep distress over the incident.
My eldest sister was murdered in her house on Sunday night. We only heard about it on Monday morning, so we believe it happened during the night,he said.
He also raised concerns about the disappearance of the night security guard.
“The morning guard said he met the gate wide open when he arrived.
He just sat there. Sat there doing what? I don’t understand this situation at all, he added.
The family has already provided police with the details of the private security company responsible for deploying the guards. According to him, the police have detained the morning guard and summoned the owner of the security firm for questioning.
Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, confirmed that several suspects have been arrested.
Some of the security staff are in police custody, while one of them is still at large,” he stated.
Investigations are ongoing to uncover the full circumstances behind the killing.
