RCCG Pastor Under Fire as LAUTECH Student Accuses Him of Attempted R@pe

The Redeemed Christian Church of God has reacted to the growing controversy surrounding one of its pastors accused of attempted r@pe and s3xual misconduct in Ogbomoso, Oyo State.

The church said it is currently awaiting the outcome of an investigation before taking further action against the pastor, who reportedly serves at RCCG Strongtower Parish near LAUTECH.

The allegation exploded online after a viral video showed a female student confronting the pastor during a church service, accusing him of inviting her to his residence under the pretense of collecting food before allegedly attempting to force himself on her.

The student further claimed the pastor made inappropriate demands after she resisted him and also boasted about similar encounters with other female members.

Reacting to the incident, RCCG publicity secretary, Lanre Oyegbola, confirmed the church is aware of the allegations and monitoring ongoing investigations reportedly involving school authorities.

The controversy has sparked heated reactions online, with many Nigerians demanding accountability and a transparent probe into the matter. Some social media users have praised the student for speaking publicly, while others insist the allegations must be thoroughly investigated before conclusions are drawn.

The Oyo State Police Command said it has not officially received details of the case, while church leaders and Christian groups have also called for fairness and due process.
