Former Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has spoken publicly following the independent commission’s verdict that found the club guilty of a series of Premier League financial rule breaches.
Guardiola, who left Manchester City after a decade in charge, reaffirmed his support for the club’s ownership, board, players and supporters despite the ruling and the uncertainty surrounding possible sanctions.
In a message shared on Instagram, Guardiola said he remained firmly behind the club and those associated with it.

He added that Manchester City would face the situation together, telling supporters: Let me be clear: we will get through this together. I love you all.
The verdict followed a lengthy investigation into allegations covering the period between 2009 and 2018.
An independent commission ruled against Manchester City on a substantial number of the charges brought by the Premier League. Among the findings were allegations concerning the club’s commercial arrangements and the accuracy of financial information submitted to the league.
The commission found that Manchester City’s commercial income over an eight-year period had been significantly overstated, with the disputed amount put at more than £830 million.
The case has been one of the most closely watched disciplinary matters in Premier League history, with the allegations dating back to the period when City developed into one of English football’s dominant clubs.
