JOS: Governors elected under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) are convening in Jos, Plateau State, to deliberate on crucial governance matters affecting the party and the nation. The meeting will also include a review of the recently concluded governorship elections in Edo and Ondo States, where the PDP faced defeat in both races.
Bauchi State Governor and Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, Bala Mohammed, opened the meeting by reaffirming the party’s commitment to delivering good governance through its elected representatives. He emphasized the unity within the PDP, describing the party as an unbreakable political force that continues to offer hope and quality governance to Nigerians.
We are here on the Plateau, where Governor Mutfwang has demonstrated that it is a place where everyone is welcomed,” Mohammed stated. “The PDP is a united party. Despite any challenges, we remain steadfast in our collective efforts to create opportunities for better governance across the country.

Oyo State Governor and Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum, Seyi Makinde, echoed these sentiments, assuring PDP supporters of the governors’ dedication to reforming the party and reclaiming its leadership role in Nigerian politics.
Governors from Zamfara, Oyo, Taraba, Adamawa, Bauchi, and Plateau attended the meeting, while Delta and Enugu States were represented. Governors from Osun, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, and Bayelsa states were absent.
The event also saw the presence of several dignitaries, including Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa, Governor Kefas Agbu of Taraba, Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara, as well as the Deputy Governors of Bayelsa, Enugu, and Plateau States. The PDP Acting National Chairman, Illiya Damagum, was also in attendance.
Notable party figures such as former Plateau Governor Senator Jonah David Jang, former Kaduna State Governor Ahmed Makarfi, former Niger State Governor Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu, and Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, Chairman of the PDP Ministers’ Forum, were also present, alongside other key stakeholders.
