Sowore Rejects ADC Coalition, Says He Won’t Join Alliance of Looters

LAGOS: Omoyele Sowore, publisher of Sahara Reporters and presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), has publicly rejected any alliance with the newly proposed political coalition being spearheaded by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and other opposition figures.

He categorically distanced himself from what he called a gathering of “recycled traitors,” declaring his unwavering loyalty to the oppressed Nigerian masses.

In a strongly worded statement, Sowore rebuffed any suggestions that he might join a political front composed of individuals he holds responsible for Nigeria’s decades of corruption, human rights violations, and betrayal of democratic ideals.

I did not join Bola Ahmed Tinubu in distributing heroin and cocaine in Chicago, Sowore stated.

I did not join Atiku Abubakar in looting the Nigerian Customs dry.

I did not join David Mark when he diverted funds meant to fix Nigeria’s telecom sector and then aided in crushing our democratic aspirations on June 12.

Continuing his blistering critique, Sowore added: I did not join Abubakar Malami in violating human rights and looting the treasury during Buhari’s regime, or in banning Twitter. I did not join Nasir El-Rufai in the massacre of Shiites and the religious genocide in Southern Kaduna.

I did not join Peter Obi at the Tin Can Ports when he cleared goods for Sani Abacha—the same dictator dismantling Nigeria brick by brick.

He further listed other political figures whom he described as complicit in Nigeria’s ruin. I did not join Sule Lamido and the SDP traitors who sold out MKO Abiola and betrayed the will of the people.

I did not join Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, who squandered Rivers State’s wealth and abandoned a mini-rail project that had already been paid for.

Sowore stressed that he has never been part of a robbery syndicate or pledged allegiance to any cult group, no matter how powerful or glamorous. Instead, he said his sole allegiance lies with the oppressed, marginalized, and silenced citizens of Nigeria.

I will only stand with those who are ready to dismantle this rotten system built by the individuals I’ve mentioned.

We need a coalition of truth, justice, and courage not another alliance of looters hiding behind new party names, he said.

Sowore’s comments come as the 2027 elections loom and opposition parties scramble to present a united front against President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

But for Sowore, any coalition that includes individuals with a track record of betrayal and corruption is doomed from the start.

Nigeria must be liberated from these evil doers, he declared. The future belongs to the just, not the compromised.
