Okpebholo Appoints Festus Alenkhe Substantive MD of Edo Broadcasting Service

BENIN-CITY: The Edo State Government has appointed veteran broadcaster and journalist Festus Alenkhe as the substantive Managing Director of the Edo Broadcasting Service (EBS).

The appointment was approved by the Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, and takes immediate effect.

The announcement was contained in a statement issued by the Secretary to the Edo State Government, Umar Musa, who described Alenkhe as a seasoned media professional with extensive experience in journalism, broadcasting and public service.

Alenkhe has held several leadership positions throughout his career, including serving as Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Edo State Council, as well as Chairman of the Nigerian Red Cross, Edo State Branch.

Prior to his confirmation as substantive Managing Director, Alenkhe served as the Acting Managing Director of the Edo Broadcasting Service, where he was credited with providing leadership and contributing to the advancement of the state-owned broadcasting organisation.

The state government said his appointment was part of efforts to strengthen the leadership and professional capacity of EBS while improving its overall service delivery to residents of Edo State.

With his extensive experience in journalism, broadcasting and institutional leadership, Alenkhe is expected to build on his achievements as acting Managing Director and further reposition the Edo Broadcasting Service for more effective and professional public broadcasting.

The appointment takes immediate effect.
