Nigerian comedian and Nollywood actor Okey Bakassi has dismissed reports claiming that his marriage has collapsed, insisting that he and his wife are still together.

The rumours reportedly emerged on Monday, with claims that Bakassi’s wife had initiated divorce proceedings after moving to the United States with their children to study nursing, while the comedian remained in Nigeria to work and provide financial support.
However, Bakassi challenged the accuracy of the report, questioning why anyone would publish such claims about his family without verifying the information.
According to the actor, the publication used his name and photograph alongside an image of his wife to spread the allegation that they had gone their separate ways.

“Those of you who are close to me know that my wife does not live in the US and she’s not a nurse as reported by the author of that article,” he said.
