LAGOS: Former Nigeria President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, NiDCOM, Hon. Toks Omishakin, Secretary California State Transportation Agency, CalSTA, and iconic filmmaker Richard Mofe-Damijo, RMD, are set to deliver keynote addresses at The Africa Entrepreneurs Festival, TAEF, organized by Afretrade incorporated California, USA, to source Diaspora$500 funds to transform Africa nations economy.

Afretrade, is a US-bsaed business consortium of experts in trade, Technology, Finance and global diaspora Investment, with a noble vision to aid Africa nations economic turnaround from the rapid Increasing diaspora Investment funding which annually is estimated at $ 500 billion.

Afretrade describes the debuting TAEF as Africa’s largest diaspora and entrepreneurship festival, and it’s being in Africa for the first in Lagos, Nigeria between 17-19 of June to actualize this noble economic revival for African continent.

Afretrade announced in a press briefing in Lagos that TAEF 2026, which it also described as Africa’s largest and ambitious gathering, will attract entrepreneurs, innovators globally for the three-day economic summit at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Speaking at the press briefing, Dr. Charly Lemassi, Chief Operating Officer, COO, and Festival Director, unveiled Chief Olusegun Obasanjo as the grand keynote speaker, while other guest speakers are Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Toks Omishakin, and Richard Mofe-Damijo, RMD.

She said that TAEF will serve as the formal launch of two landmark economic initiatives: the Afretrade Economic Renaissance Movement, a coordinated global effort to mobilize the African diaspora as an engine of trade, Investment and institutional development, and the Lagos-California Sister States Economic corridor, designed to structurally connect two of the world’s most dynamic business ecosystems.

For the first time, we are bringing the full weight of the global African diaspora Investors, entrepreneurs, innovators and policymakers into one room with a single shared mandate to build a single a sustainable ecosystem Africa’s economic Renaissance with intention, capital and with urgency, she added. Lekan Salami, founder/CEO of Afretrade inc., earlier announced that the theme of the event: Africa’s Economic Renaissance.

TAEF is a flagship event of Afretrade inc. a California-based trade and Investment platform, I founded to do one thing; to connect to Africa ambition with global capital, he said. He assured that every panel, every pitch stage stage, every matchmaking session is designed to produce real outcomes, deals signed, partnerships formed and businesses funded, he said.

Paul Akume, the Youth Director, who unveiled the chain of events, said that TAEF will feature entrepreneurship expertise training sessions, masterclasses, SME workshops, trade, tech, diaspora Investments and funding room, Youths talent competition, investors and entrepreneur roundtable and others.

He noted TAEF has made provision for a significant youth entrepreneurship business support seed of $5,000 to assist the most innovative youthful entrepreneur for rapid business advancement.

Afretrade confirmed that diaspora partners and delegates from African countries and diaspora Investors from the United States led by Hon. Toks Omishakin, Canada, United Kingdom, Brazil, West, East, Central and Southern, the Caribbean, are attending with their delegates.

Afretrade noted that the global delegates representing over 40 countries, has a combined he economic footprint’s potential exceedingly $5,00 billion.
