The father of late Nollywood actress Nimmy Ferrari has broken his silence over allegations surrounding his daughter’s death, her burial and the ownership of the house she reportedly completed shortly before her death.
The development comes amid a family dispute after Nimmy’s mother allegedly accused her late daughter’s father of attempting to exhume the actress’ remains from the property.
The allegation reportedly centred on claims that the move was connected to efforts by the family to take control of the house and possibly sell it.
However, Nimmy Ferrari’s father has denied any involvement in his daughter’s death, insisting that he could never harm or kill his own child.
Speaking about the circumstances surrounding Nimmy’s illness and death, her father said the actress herself informed him that she was already at a hospital where she was preparing to undergo surgery for fibroids.
According to him, he questioned why she had not told him about the procedure earlier.
He said he became even more concerned after learning that Nimmy had already paid for some medical examinations and that the proposed surgery was expected to cost about ₦3.6 million.
The actress’ father said he subsequently suggested that she consider another doctor in Abeokuta whom he knew and who, according to him, could provide an alternative treatment.
He maintained that he had no reason to harm his daughter. I can’t kpai my child. She called me that she was already at the hospital for fibroid surgery. I asked why she didn’t tell me earlier, he said.
He added that Nimmy had told him that scan fees had already been paid and that the surgery would cost about ₦3.6 million.
The late actress’ father also provided an account of how Nimmy came to have the property at the centre of the family dispute.
He said Nimmy had contacted him and expressed her desire to build a house of her own.
According to him, he subsequently informed the elders in the family, who agreed that a portion of the family land should be allocated to her for the project.
He said he personally became involved in constructing the house.
The father, however, revealed that Nimmy had asked him not to inform her mother about the property.
According to him, Nimmy’s decision was connected to an earlier piece of land she had acquired through her mother. About the house, she called me and said she wanted to build her own house. I told the elders in the family and they said we should cut out a portion for her from our family land, he said.
He added: While I was building the house for her, she begged me not to let her mother know about it. That the first land she bought through her mother. Her mother later sold the land.”
The revelations have added another layer to the dispute surrounding Nimmy Ferrari’s death and the ownership of her property.
While her mother has raised allegations concerning the handling of the actress’ remains and the house, her father has offered a different account, denying wrongdoing and explaining his involvement in the construction of the property.
The competing claims have drawn attention to the circumstances surrounding the late actress’ final days and the ownership of the house she reportedly wanted to establish as her own.
Nimmy Ferrari’s father’s latest comments, however, do not provide independent confirmation of the allegations made by either side of the family.
As the disagreement continues, questions remain over the circumstances of the actress’ death, the ownership of the property and how her family intends to resolve the dispute
