The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has launched a five-day capacity-building programme to train 50 youths in Delta State on GSM phone repairs as part of efforts to enhance technical skills and promote youth empowerment.
The training, which commenced on Monday, is being implemented by Papi Efe Limited and is designed to equip participants with practical knowledge in mobile phone repair, maintenance, software and hardware troubleshooting, and related technical competencies within the telecommunications sector.
According to organisers, the initiative aims to provide hands-on experience that will enable participants not only to repair and maintain mobile devices but also to establish their own phone repair businesses upon completion of the programme.
The NCDMB has continued to implement various human capital development initiatives nationwide, including vocational training programmes in information and communication technology, phone repair, and other emerging trades.
These efforts are intended to equip Nigerian youths with employable skills and entrepreneurial opportunities.
Officials say the current training programme is expected to boost technical capacity among young people in Delta State while contributing to job creation, entrepreneurship development, and broader economic growth.
