LAGOS TO HOST SECOND ENERGY SUMMIT IN NOVEMBER 2026 …Summit to focus on electricity market development, investment and sustainable energy solutions

The Lagos State Government, through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR), has announced that the second edition of the Lagos Energy Summit will hold on Tuesday, November 10 and Wednesday, November 11, 2026, at the Landmark Event Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The Summit, themed “Lagos Energy Evolution: Transforming the Future,” will bring together policymakers, regulators, investors, development partners, industry leaders and innovators to examine emerging opportunities and practical solutions for the development of Lagos’ energy sector.
Earlier scheduled for September, the Summit was moved to November to accommodate further preparations for the high-level event, which will focus on developments in the State’s electricity market and opportunities for investment and innovation.

A key focus of the 2026 edition will be the implementation of the Lagos State Electricity Law, 2024, particularly its implications for private sector participation and investment across the electricity value chain.

Discussions will also address the evolving regulatory framework and its role in supporting a reliable and sustainable electricity market.

Speaking on the Summit, the Honourable Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Mr. Biodun Ogunleye, said the event would provide an important platform to assess progress in the State’s electricity sector and identify areas for strategic investment.

He said, “The Summit will not only review the progress recorded since the enactment of the Lagos State Electricity Law, but will also catalyse strategic partnerships and investments that will deliver measurable outcomes across the generation, transmission and distribution value chain.

The programme will feature plenary sessions, technical masterclasses, investment roundtables, exhibitions and business-to-business (B2B) engagements.

Key areas of discussion will include renewable energy, electricity infrastructure, decentralised generation, energy investment and the role of the sector in supporting Lagos’ transition towards a 24-hour economy.Participants will also have opportunities to explore potential partnerships, Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and other investment opportunities, while technical visits to selected energy infrastructure projects will provide practical insights into ongoing developments across the State.

With an anticipated participation of over 4,000 stakeholders, physically and virtually, the Summit will provide a platform for knowledge exchange and direct engagement among government institutions, regulators, investors, development partners, industry players and innovators.

The Lagos Energy Summit 2026 is aligned with the State’s Net Zero Agenda and Vision 2030, reflecting its commitment to sustainable energy development and an enabling environment for investment in the sector.
