JAMB Confirms Poor Performance in 2025 UTME, Provides Result-Checking Guide

LAGOS: The JOINT ADMISSIONS AND MATRICULATION BOARD has officially released the results of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

According to data released on Monday, more than 1.5 million out of the 1,955,069 candidates who sat for the exam scored below 200. This means that approximately 75% of the candidates failed to meet the 200-mark benchmark.

JAMB’s statistical breakdown revealed that only 420,415 candidates scored above 200, while less than 1% of all examinees attained scores higher than 300.

The examination, which commenced on Thursday, April 24, also featured 40,247 underage candidates who were granted special permission to participate. However, just 467 of them—representing 1.16%—achieved scores that met JAMB’s criteria for “exceptional ability.” These candidates will still go through three additional evaluation stages.

For those looking to check their UTME scores, Rapidospace News Online provides a step-by-step guide below.
