ONITSHA: Former presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has dismissed allegations made by presidential aide, Daniel Bwala, describing him as one of those “characters” he does not waste time responding to.
Bwala had claimed during a recent interview that while Obi was governor of Anambra State, he allegedly kept state funds in a bank where he had personal interests, implying that Obi profited from the deposits Peter Obi saved money, yes but he saved it in a bank where he was chairman at the time. That’s where he made his money, Bwala alleged.
“When you calculate Anambra’s liabilities against those so-called savings, there’s nothing left. This is pure 419.
Responding on a podcast, Obi said he had no time for such baseless claims and would not dignify them with a serious response.
Ordinarily, I don’t answer these types of characters, Obi said. When I left office, I wasn’t owing salaries, gratuities, pensions, or payments to any supplier who delivered goods.
The man making these claims has never been to Anambra State. I just leave them to continue feeding on lies.
The former Anambra governor added that his records in public service were clear and verifiable, urging Nigerians to ignore attempts to distract from important national issues.
