LAGOS: The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, said he is sorry for saying no heaven for not paying tithe. Pastor Adeboye apologised for saying that Christians who don’t pay tithe might not make it to heaven.
Adeboye had in one of his previous preaching said that paying tithe was one of the prerequisites for going to heaven.
However, he expressed regret for the remark, which he called a “mistake,” when he made it on Thursday while addressing to a young congregation at the RCCG’s youthful Convention, which is at present taking place in Redemption City, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Ogun State.
He emphasized that the Bible states that leading an upright and pure life is a requirement for becoming a Vedan.

I regret stating, “You might not make it to heaven if you don’t pay tithe.” I apologize, but it is incorrect and not found in the Bible. He quoted the Bible as saying, “Follow holiness and peace with all men, for without these, no man shall see God.
Pastor Adeboye explained “It is possible to be right and wrong at the same time. I will prove it to you. I’m a scientist so I know that for years we thought that light travels in straight lines….
Later on we discovered light travels in waves. It is wrong to limit you to 10 per cent when someone is talking of 20, 30, 40 percent. 10 percent should be for beginners I believe God will give me an opportunity very soon to give you the detail. Again., I am sorry for saying no heaven for not paying tithe.
