How Ayilara Olawale Emerged LASU’s Best Graduating Student With 4.96 CGPA

Ayilara Olawale has emerged as the overall best graduating student of Lagos State University (LASU) for the 2024/2025 academic session, after completing his degree with an outstanding cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 4.96.

Olawale, a graduate of Project Management Technology, finished his programme with First Class Honours, placing him at the top of his graduating class.

For him, the achievement represents more than an impressive academic record. It is the result of years of discipline, endurance, consistency and perseverance throughout his university journey.

Reflecting on the feat, Olawale attributed his success to divine grace while expressing optimism about the opportunities and responsibilities that lie ahead.

Grateful beyond words to graduate as the Best Graduating Student of Lagos State University, Ojo, for the 2024/2025 Session. Every victory was by Allah’s grace. Here’s to bigger dreams, impact, and a lifetime of excellence, he wrote on X.

Olawale’s university experience extended beyond academic excellence.

He was a participant in the Project1500 initiative and also an alumnus of the Millennium Fellowship, LASU Cohort.

These experiences contributed to his development outside the classroom, exposing him to opportunities that complemented his academic training and broadened his outlook.

Following the completion of his degree, Olawale reflected on the challenges he encountered during his time at LASU.

He described the journey as one that required discipline and the ability to remain focused despite difficult moments.

“Alhamdulillah for this journey. B.Tech(Hon) in Project Management Technology, Lagos State University bagged successfully, he said.

He added that the experience was marked by “discipline, sustainability, endurance and perseverance.

Olawale is among thousands of graduates expected to receive their degrees as LASU prepares for its combined 29th and 30th convocation ceremonies.

The ceremonies are scheduled to take place from August 14 to 23, 2026.

His emergence as the institution’s overall best graduating student highlights the academic achievements of the graduating class and serves as an example of the results that can come from sustained commitment to academic excellence.

With a CGPA of 4.96, Olawale leaves LASU with one of the strongest academic records among the university’s graduating students for the 2024/2025 session.

As he moves beyond the university environment, his focus now shifts towards building on the foundation created through his academic and extracurricular experiences, with ambitions of making a meaningful impact in his chosen field.
