Femi Otedola Recalls Emotional Moment Walking Daughter Temi Down the Aisle

LAGOS: Nigerian billionaire and philanthropist, Femi Otedola, has opened up about one of the most emotional experiences of his life walking his daughter, Temi Otedola, down the aisle at her wedding to Afrobeats star Mr Eazi.

On August 8, the oil and energy mogul, known for his calm composure in public, showed a rare vulnerable side.

In a video shared on Instagram, Otedola could be seen beaming with pride as he escorted his “baby angel” to her groom.

The clip, which has since gone viral, captured the moment he gently held Temi’s hand, guiding her through the aisle before handing her over to Mr Eazi.

For many, the highlight was not just the walk but the sight of the billionaire businessman shedding tears during the church service. Cameras caught him discreetly wiping his eyes as the ceremony progressed.

His wife, Nana Otedola, was also visibly moved, reacting warmly to her husband’s emotional moment.

The wedding between Temi, an actress and fashion influencer, and Mr Eazi, one of Africa’s globally celebrated artists, has been described as nothing short of spectacular.

Their relationship, which began quietly before going public in 2017, has been admired for its blend of love, friendship, and support across industries.

Their union was celebrated across three countries — Monaco, Dubai, and Iceland  making it one of the most glamorous Nigerian weddings in recent years. Each location reflected the couple’s global outlook and their deep ties to both African and international communities.

The Otedola family is no stranger to the spotlight. Temi’s sisters, DJ Cuppy and Tolani, are both musicians, while Temi herself has built a career in film and fashion.

Their father, Femi Otedola, has long been an influential figure in business and philanthropy, often making headlines for his generosity, including high-profile donations to education and healthcare.

At the wedding, DJ Cuppy shared her playful side, recalling how she once asked her father for Bitcoin instead of traditional gifts, a story that resurfaced in the media as the family celebrated Temi’s big day.

The Otedola–Eazi wedding also sparked conversations on Nigerian weddings’ growing international appeal.

From destination ceremonies to lavish multi-day events, couples are increasingly blending cultural traditions with modern global trends.

For Otedola, however, the most important memory remains simple and timeless — walking his daughter down the aisle, watching her start a new chapter, and letting the world see a father’s pride and tears.
