EFCC Arrests Benue Governor’s Aide Mkor Aondona Over Sextortion, Cyberbullying Allegations

MAKURDI: Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Makurdi have arrested Dr. Mkor Aondona, Special Adviser to the Benue State Governor on Documentation, Research, and Planning, for alleged sextortion, cyberbullying, and the non-consensual sharing of explicit videos.

The arrest occurred on Friday, June 20, following multiple petitions filed by female university students who accused Aondona of sexual exploitation, including secretly recording private sexual activities and using the footage to blackmail victims into continued sexual involvement.

In a statement sent to The Whistler, EFCC spokesman Dele Oyewale, Head of Media and Publicity, said the victims primarily undergraduates alleged that Dr. Aondona regularly selected slim and attractive young women for ushering jobs at official events but demanded sexual favors as a prerequisite.

The victims claimed Aondona covertly filmed these intimate encounters without their consent and later threatened to release the recordings online if they refused further sexual advances.

The suspect regularly sought sexual relations under the guise of government event recruitment, the EFCC said. He secretly recorded the acts and later used the footage to blackmail the victims.

The EFCC also confirmed that some of these explicit clips have already circulated on messaging apps and social media, further escalating the scandal.

The statement continued: The petitioners revealed that Aondona was recruiting young women under false pretenses, demanding sexual favors for ushering roles.

Unknown to them, he recorded the encounters and used the videos to coerce ongoing sexual relationships. Some videos are already in circulation.

The Commission added that Aondona will be formally charged in court soon, and investigations are still ongoing.

This arrest has drawn national attention as more details emerge about the misuse of public office for personal gain.
