Delta APC Backs Tinubu, Oborevwori for 2027 Elections

UGHELLI: The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta Central Senatorial District has officially endorsed President Bola Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for re-election in the 2027 general elections.

This major endorsement was announced on Sunday at a Unity Meeting in Ughelli, where party leaders across federal, state, and local levels pledged unanimous support, citing strong performance, visionary leadership, and aligned political goals.

The motion to adopt Tinubu and Oborevwori as APC’s sole candidates for the 2027 elections was moved by Rep. Francis Waive (Ughelli/Udu Federal Constituency).

He applauded Tinubu’s economic reforms and praised Oborevwori for what he called effective leadership and achievements.

Former lawmaker Halims Agoda seconded the motion, which was adopted via a voice vote conducted by Senator Ede Dafinone (Delta Central), met with enthusiastic approval from party faithful.

The gathering also passed a vote of confidence in Tinubu and Oborevwori, with support from National Assembly members, state lawmakers, commissioners, local government chairpersons, and federal appointees.

Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo (SAN), hailed the meeting as a landmark political event in Delta Central, describing the party as more united than ever.

Since 1999, the Urhobo nation has never been this united. Delta Central has never delivered 100% votes to any party. But in 2027, that will change, Keyamo said confidently.

He linked Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda with Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda, suggesting their partnership would accelerate development in Delta State.

This gathering isn’t ordinary. This is the Ukodo base. No other district should have taken the initiative from us, he added.

APC Delta Central Chairman, Chief Paulinus Akpeki, praised Oborevwori for aligning with APC, saying it had “reshaped Delta’s political terrain.

“Today is a day of unity and shared vision. We reaffirm our pledge to work together as one united family, Akpeki said.

Elder Omeni Sobotie, Delta APC Chairman, described the event as a strategic move to fortify grassroots party structures ahead of 2027. He commended members’ commitment and solidarity.

The meeting attracted Delta’s top political figures, including 2015 APC governorship candidate Olorogun O’tega Emerhor, NEXIM Bank Executive Director Chief Stella Okotete,

Governor’s Chief Adviser Senator Ighoyota Amori, and Ughelli North LGA Chairman Chief Jaro Egbo. All pledged their continued loyalty to APC’s success.

They also promised to replicate the Unity Meeting across all eight local government areas in Delta Central, down to the ward and polling unit levels, to maintain political momentum.
