ABUJA: The Federal High Court in Abuja has directed the Federal Government to close its case against former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd.), by September 26, 2025.
Justice Peter Lifu, who presided over the session on Tuesday, scheduled the continuation of trial for September 24, 25, and 26, warning that the prosecution must conclude presenting its evidence within those dates before the defence opens.
Dasuki has been on trial since 2015, facing seven amended charges including unlawful possession of firearms and money laundering, initially filed under the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
At the last hearing, a prosecution witness, Monsur Mohammed, an exhibit officer with the Department of State Services (DSS), testified about items recovered from Dasuki’s residences during raids in Abuja, Kaduna, and Sokoto.

All items were admitted into evidence without objection from Dasuki’s counsel, Ahmed Usman, and marked as exhibits MSD 015 to MSD 034.
Mohammed further revealed that $150,000 and ₦37.6 million were found at another property in Sabo Birni, Sokoto State, and deposited with the Central Bank of Nigeria. No evidence was found at the property located on Sultan Abubakar Road, Sokoto.
