BAUCHI: A heartbreaking incident has emerged in Bauchi State, where a 50-year-old businessman, Nuru Isah, allegedly killed his 24-year-old second wife, Wasila Abdullahi, following a dispute over food items intended for the breaking of the Ramadan fast on March 1, 2025.
According to a statement from the Bauchi State Police Command, the violent altercation began after a misunderstanding between Isah and his wife regarding the handling of food ingredients and fruits for Iftar.
The disagreement quickly escalated into a physical confrontation, during which Isah is accused of striking his wife with a cane.
This assault caused Wasila to collapse and lose consciousness in their home near Government Girls College in Fadamam Mada area of Bauchi.
After the incident, Wasila was rushed to ATBU Teaching Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The police have since arrested Nuru Isah and recovered the cane used in the attack as evidence. The body of the deceased has been taken to the mortuary for an autopsy.
The Bauchi State Police Command has launched a thorough investigation into the matter, with Commissioner of Police Auwal Musa Muhammad reaffirming the commitment to ensuring justice.
