LONDON: Arsenal is reportedly considering a late move for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen as the Premier League club continues its search for attacking reinforcements ahead of the transfer window deadline.
The Gunners have encountered difficulties in their pursuit of several high-profile forwards, with a potential move for Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr reportedly off the table. Negotiations involving Atletico Madrid forward Julián Alvarez and Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola have also become increasingly challenging.
As a result, Osimhen has emerged as a potential alternative target for Arsenal as the club looks to strengthen its attacking options.
The Nigeria international enjoyed a prolific spell in Turkey last season and remains one of Europe’s most sought-after centre-forwards. His goalscoring record and experience at the highest level have made him an attractive option for clubs seeking additional firepower.
Arsenal’s interest comes as manager Mikel Arteta continues to assess his options ahead of the transfer deadline. The club is understood to be working on strengthening other areas of the squad as well, including its defence.
