Afenifere Leader Reuben Fasoranti Dies at 100

AKURE: Pa Reuben Famuyide Fasoranti, the national leader of the pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere, has died at the age of 100.

Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, announced the death of the elder statesman in a statement personally signed and issued on Tuesday.

The governor described Fasoranti as a respected leader whose life was marked by integrity, wisdom and dedicated service to Ondo State, Yorubaland and Nigeria.

According to Aiyedatiwa, the late Afenifere leader made significant contributions to national development and consistently upheld positions on justice, accountability and good governance.

He added that Fasoranti’s counsel and guidance would be greatly missed by those who benefited from his leadership and experience.

The Ondo State governor extended his condolences to the Fasoranti family, the people of Akure Kingdom and residents of Ondo State, describing the death as a significant loss to the state and the Yoruba people.

Aiyedatiwa also prayed for the peaceful repose of the deceased’s soul and comfort for his family and associates.
