A Nigerian cleric, Prophet Sunday Ayanda Daramola, has claimed that spiritual forces could play a major role in determining the outcome of the 2027 presidential election.
Daramola, who shared the prediction through a Facebook post by the Glory of Salvation and Prophecy Apostolic Church, said he had received what he described as a divine revelation concerning the forthcoming presidential contest.
According to the cleric, one of the leading presidential candidates would allegedly deploy spiritual power to attract a large number of voters to his side, a development he claimed could ultimately influence the election result.
However, Daramola did not identify the candidate he was referring to.
The prophet further claimed that he had been shown what he described as a video of the individual who would eventually emerge as Nigeria’s president after the 2027 election.
He, however, withheld the person’s identity, promising to disclose the name very soon.
Daramola also predicted that political divisions within some parties would continue until election day and could negatively affect their electoral fortunes.
He said the announcement of the eventual winner could generate controversy, with some Nigerians accepting the result while others would reject it.
Despite the expected disagreement, the cleric predicted that the country would eventually return to peace and stability after the outcome had been declared.
He ended his message by stressing his religious identity, saying: Remember, Jesus is Lord and a seer, never a politician.
The prophecy comes as political activity surrounding the 2027 presidential election continues to intensify across Nigeria.
President Bola Tinubu is seeking a second term on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, while opposition figures including Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar are also positioning themselves for the presidential contest.
Obi has emerged as a major figure in the opposition camp, while Atiku remains one of the country’s most prominent presidential contenders.
The evolving political landscape has also produced new alliances and realignments as parties and politicians prepare for the next general election.
Prophetic declarations about elections have long featured in Nigeria’s political discourse, with religious leaders frequently making predictions about candidates and electoral outcomes.
However, such predictions remain claims that cannot independently establish who will win an election.
The eventual winner of the 2027 presidential election will be determined through the electoral process conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission and the votes cast by eligible Nigerians.
