RIVERS STATE: The Governor of Oyo state, Seyi Makinde, has asked the FCT Minister and former Governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike, not to “put fire” in his state as promised.
I am here to beg Mr Wike to consider Oyo state should he decide to make bold his threat on Saturday at an event organised in honour of the minister by the Ijaw Peoples Congress in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.

I informed him I had brought a peace offering when I came yesterday because he has been bragging about setting several states on fire. I begged you not to light Oyo State on fire.
In the wake of the political rift between himself and the Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, the minister said, Nobody has the monopoly of causing violence.
Despite their battle for dominance, Wike also took advantage of the opportunity to debunk the popular belief that Fubara was speaking for the Ijaw people.
I have made it clear to everybody that no one is exclusively capable of inciting violence. The very fact that we decide to play by the rules to maintain stability and avoid becoming a place or state where investors would run away, and that is precisely what we will do. he declared.
