RIVERS STATE: The Minister of Federal capital territory and Former Governor of oil Rich Rivers state Barrister Wisom Wike warn the current Governor of Rivers State and political godson in a statement made in Port Harcourt on Saturday at the Rivers State Ijaw Peoples Congress organised in his honour that no one has a monopoly of violence.
Wike also used the opportunity to clear the air about public perception that Fubara was speaking the mind of the entire Ijaw people as both battled for supremacy.
I would like to thank everyone for coming to our strategic discussion today. First of all, Senator Johnson Nsakebor spoke to me. The Rivers Ijaw Congress sent him because they wanted to honour me. I asked as to what such meant in essence.
Why do you wish to waste that much cash? I need the cash. Send it to me. However, he claimed that quite a number of individuals go on television and pretend to speak for the Ijaw people. Okay, I’ll come and tell Nigerians.

To the people in Abuja who don’t understand, this gathering here today is a message. Thus, if someone ever tells you that Ijaw people are fighting you, don’t believe them. It’s not correct.
Everywhere we go there are ungrateful people. One of a father’s twelve children may be an armed robber. Is it implying that the entire family is members of armed bandits?
“So, anyone who goes on TV saying that Ijaw people are fighting with me. Ask them; they were all positioned in the House of Assembly, Ijaw people.
Fubara was made by who? You are seeing the envy among those who are jealous of our development. What we do now is not attainable for them to do. We have repeatedly beaten these people in politics. We will defeat them again if the chance arises.
I have help an Ijaw man to lead Rivers State as governor. God made use of us. We’ve all witnessed restless nights before. Who then values Ijaw more?
I have told people that nobody has a monopoly of causing violence. The mere fact that we choose to play according to the rule of law. To be calm and not to turn ourselves into where investors would run away, and that is what we will continue to do.
