LAGOS: Popular media personality Nedu has sent a pre-action notice to social media critic VeryDarkMan over allegedly defamatory comments made on his online platforms. VeryDarkMan confirmed the receipt of the notice in a video posted on his Instagram, where he warned his followers to prepare for a legal confrontation.
In the video, VeryDarkMan said, “Nedu’s lawyers have served me, so make una get ready for court case. This statement followed the official notice issued by Nedu’s legal team, which claimed that a video posted by VeryDarkMan on February 19, 2025, on both YouTube and Instagram contained defamatory and false statements about Nedu and his associated company, Tokindrumz Picture and Media Ltd.
The 12-minute video, titled “How Nedu Diverted NGO Scholarship Meant for Nigerians,” was described by Nedu’s legal representatives as containing harmful rhetoric that falsely portrayed their client.
The legal team clarified that Nedu is not the owner of Tokindrumz, as alleged in the video, but rather a talent under the company’s brand.
The notice further demanded that VeryDarkMan take down all videos related to Nedu from his platforms within 24 hours of receiving the notice.
Also, the legal team insisted that a public apology be issued by VeryDarkMan and that he pay N500 million in damages for the reputational harm caused to Nedu.
