FLORIDA: Popular televangelist and faith-healer, Benny Hinn, and his wife Suzanne Hinn have ended their marriage for the second time in their 46-year relationship.
According to court records from Hillsborough County Court in Florida first reported by the Trinity Foundation, the couple finalised an uncontested divorce on November 19.
This comes after Suzanne filed for divorce in mid-2024. At the time, the couple were already living separately in homes over 60 miles apart.
Speaking on the development, Benny Hinn’s lawyer, Damon Chase, said the preacher was not the one who initiated the divorce.
He added that although the marriage has ended, the pair remain deeply attached to each other.
Benny Hinn and Suzanne still love each other with a deep, profound soulmate-type love. They’ve always loved each other. They just got divorced. It was personal, Chase said.
They’re still in each other’s lives and will always be. There was nothing contentious about the process.
Chase insisted that the divorce happened for undisclosed personal reasons, and that the estranged couple still prays together and remain committed to ministry work.
This isn’t the first time the Hinns’ marriage has hit the rocks.
Suzanne first filed for divorce in 2010 after 30 years of marriage. Months later, the National Enquirer published photos of Benny Hinn leaving a hotel with fellow televangelist Paula White, sparking scandal.
Hinn denied having an affair, saying their connection was purely friendship and that he made a mistake by inviting her to Rome for a Vatican arts project.
They reconciled in 2012 and remarried in 2013 in a widely publicized ceremony at the Holyland Experience in Orlando, Florida. Benny Hinn later attributed their first divorce partly to Suzanne’s long-term dependence on prescription medication, which he said affected her behaviour.
The couple, who married originally in 1979, share four children.
Their second separation now brings an end once again to one of the most talked-about marriages in modern Christian ministry.
