LAGOS: Reality TV star and entrepreneur Natacha Akide, popularly known as Tacha, has successfully concluded her 24-hour Guinness World Record attempt for the most makeovers done in a single day.
The marathon beauty session came to an end at about 8:30 p.m. on Sunday at the John Randle Centre for Yoruba Culture & History, Lagos, where the challenge began the previous day.
Despite encountering a few technical hitches, including a brief power outage in the early hours of the attempt, Tacha remained undeterred and maintained an impressive pace throughout the record bid.
By the end of the challenge, she had completed 145 makeovers on both male and female models, showcasing her skill, creativity, and endurance under pressure.
Among the models who participated were influencers and media personalities such as Mitchy, Venita Akpofure, and Wanni and Handi. The participants represented diverse body types and skin tones, emphasizing the star’s versatility and artistry.
Each transformation was carefully documented with professional photos and runway showcases, forming part of the Tacha Beauty Festival, which served as the backdrop for the record-breaking attempt.
The event attracted several celebrities, influencers, and public figures who turned up to support Tacha’s bold initiative. Notable personalities in attendance included Alex Unusual, Toke Makinwa, Dabota Lawson, Soma Anyama, Slimcase, Ice Prince, Egungun of Lagos, and the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Tourism, Idris Aregbe.
Tacha, who rose to fame during Big Brother Naija Season 4, said her motivation for the attempt was to celebrate creativity, consistency, and the resilience of Nigerian women in the global beauty industry.
She now awaits official confirmation from Guinness World Records, which will review and verify her effort before declaring her an official record holder.
Her determination and focus throughout the 24-hour challenge have earned widespread praise from fans and industry stakeholders who described the feat as a symbol of hard work, passion, and representation for Nigerian youth.
